On the basis of high competence and long experience in the form of worldwide references Achenbach Controls’ product range comprises the planning, the design and realization of electrical switchgear and equipment especially for Achenbach Buschhuetten’s machinery such as rolling mills and foil slitting machines or the related media systems but also for industrial furnaces, cleaning systems, textile machinery, extruder systems, pressing machinery or compensation systems as well as for the complete special machine building industry in general. Achenbach Controls is professionally supported by its subsidiary Achenbach Systems in Milenov(Czech Republic).

Achenbach Controls’ quality management system with certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 as well as regular audits guarantee highest quality standards.

Firstly, Achenbach Controls proves partnership by its high flexibility with respect to individual solutions and precise timing. It is complemented by a high spirit of support in the form of consulting, a wide range of cooperative spare parts service and systems service reaching from planned service jobs in the sense of predictive maintenance up to spontaneous service in any case of failure.

Achenbach Controls provides its supply and services not only for new machinery but also in the context of the modernization of existing machinery and systems where it is important to maintain the production process despite restruction.

These comprise four product areas:

Electrical Engineering

The design of the electrical engineering of a new machine or the modernization of an existing machine is made by Achenbach Controls either as a complete package or as a provided supply and service.

Utmost care is taken to meet current standards which are besides national and international guidelines and standards especially customer-specific requirements in the form of specifications.

On the one hand the electrical engineering comprises the complete range of planning, switching and constructional documents such as circuit and line diagrams, layout plans, parts lists, terminal diagrams, wire and cabling lists and diagrams. As a CAE software Achenbach Controls mainly uses ePLAN® P8 in connection with ePLAN® Pro Panel.

On the other hand Achenbach Controls prepares the complete electrical documentation for the customer as a manual for all used components in the required language. Of course, an evaluation of the safety-related machinery controls according to DIN EN ISO 13849 with the SISTEMA Software (Safety of controls and machinery) can be done.

Automation Systems

Achenbach Controls supplies tailor-made solutions in the form of high-performance and highly available PLC systems for process control and visualization of most different machinery. Compatibility with all common Bus- and networking systems and the connection to the existing office IT is ensured; precise and clear documentation is provided.

A user-friendly visualization shows all process-relevant data, starting with the system operation over parameter setting and quantity recording up to batch logging.

Standard tools such as TIA Portial, Simatic Manager, WinCC, WinCC flexible are used and standard interfaces to all common bus systems such as Profibus, Profinet, I/O-Link are defined and implemented.

In this context the modular system structure with the option for extension or the easy integration in an existing structure or system is worth mentioning when, for example, the modernization of an existing machine automation is realized by an upgrade of a Siemens S5 type to a S7 type control or the integration of a visualization in older operating panel into a modern one.

Switchgear Construction

Achenbach Controls is specialized in customer-specific switchgear constructions with most different hardware components and by meeting international requirements. For example, constructions being exported to the USA or Canada are designed according to the UL-standards.

If required Achenbach Controls also constructs individual switchgears on the basis of circuit diagrams made available by the customer.

After the manufacturing each switchgear is checked regarding both, its functioning according to the specifications and the keeping of relevant standards especially according to DIN EN 60204-1 or DIN EN 61439-1/ -2. A written test report is made subsequently.

The continuous investment in the latest technology at Achenbach Controls makes an important contribution to ensure the high quality requirements such as high dimensional accuracy. With respect to the switchgear construction that means concretely:

  • The complete mechanical processing of the switching cabinet components such as assembly plates, doors, side panels or roofs, but also single terminal boxes or control panels are realized on the machining center Perforex BC 1007 HS by Rittal: drilling, threading, milling and engraving are made fully automatic; the programming bases optionally on an easy or component-oriented workshop programming or on CAD data exported via ePLAN® Pro Panel or AutoCAD.

  • In order to optimize the wiring effort and to avoid wiring mistakes, pre-assembled wires and single conductors are used. The CAD data, also imported from ePLAN® Pro Panel, are the manufacturing basis.

Electrical Installations

Achenbach Controls executes the electrical on-site-assembly and commissioning at the customer’s site worldwide. It is specialized in matching the mostly individual specifications of the special machine building industry considering the valid safety guidelines of each branch.

All systems are checked in detail on site once again and are documented systematically in order to achieve full performance of the systems at any time of machine acceptance.
